We took advantage of a special offer and booked a lodge for 4 nights, but were delighted when we were upgraded to a Hilltop Reserve. From our photo you can see the magnificent views from the lodge over the loch to Lismore . The lodge itself consisted of a large well furnished lounge and bedroom with the most comfortable bed we have ever encountered. On arrival we were greeted by the manager, Callum, in a friendly and helpful manner. He also looked after us each breakfast time in a very efficient and cheerful manner. Moreover, we found the service at breakfast and dinner to be of a very high standard with all waiters helpful and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the locally sourced food and found it to be of an excellent standard.Portions were not over large which suited us perfectly. We must admit that we were blessed with wonderful weather and were able to greatly enjoy our walks on both Eriska and Lismore. Overall, we considered it a perfect holiday. Our thanks to all the staff, especially Callum and the young waitress going to study Law at Stirling University in September. David and Liz Davenport.

This property is Stunning and the staff could not be more brilliant. We spent 3 nights here and our only wish is that we could have stayed another 3. The building is refined, the finishings and amenities are of the highest order, the staff ultra professional and the food is to die for. Large indoor heated swimming pool to relax in and miles and miles of untouched beaches and island walks. I cannot recommend it more Highly and we will certainly be back!

This is not a good review, but there were aspects of this stay that were positive. The staff were good. Some were in training, but it was good to hear the more senior staff explaining clearly what was expected of them, guiding and pointing out some of the less obvious things that a hotel of this standard should do. The food, too, was excellent. Three nights in the main restaurant provided a menu with an adequate choice for us to vary our meals each night. There is a problem with the senior management of the group, however. Making offers they cannot uphold, offering services that are unavailable, having major renovation work done while guests are there, and finally, being disrespectful to their own staff. This makes me wonder about the new ownership of the hotel. (I had a look at the recent reviews of other guests on this site- it's very telling that 5 star reviews get a nice reply note from the hotel. Below 5 stars, they don't seem to care very much- nada.) This was a stay on the west coast, in March- The criticism regarding water ingress does not relate the Scottish weather, but the hotel’s ability to cope with it. In order, here are our disappointments of our stay. 1- A ‘non-refundable/ non-transferable’ deal we accepted in September 23 was later cancelled by the hotel, who asked us to change our dates. I’m sure this one-way deal is in the small print this is allowed, but disappointing. 2- Our booking requested dinner bookings for each night- given the remoteness of the location, this is pretty well essential. This was not actioned and was corrected only when I made contact to challenge what seemed to be a discrepancy on the acknowledgement. 3- In February, we were told the deck restaurant, with it’s ‘incredible transformation’ won’t open until April. This was the first notice we had that it would be shut while we were there. 4- Five days before our arrival, we were told that the pool, sauna, and steam room of the spa hotel would be out of action throughout our stay. 5- Despite having paid nearly £700 for a non-refundable room, the hotel obviously has a problem with trust regarding their guest population. The hotel took a single pound from my credit card on arrival. 6- The weather on our first evening was pleasant. Our walk round the grounds was spoiled by the piles of building material, old fittings, and skips blocking the paths on the way to the Jetty. 7- Our first morning saw rain. This has been a wet year so far, so was surprised to discover water dripping from the roof of our sitting area. We may have been the first to experience it as explained by the manager, but given the recent storms, I would be surprised. At least they gave us wine buckets to catch the water rather than plastic ones. The roof was fixed that day because the builders were on site. (My wife’s spa massage was not charged for, by way of compensation) 8- Having arrived in a plug-in hybrid car, I tried to charge the vehicle at the hotel. This failed. The new chargers

We went for a one night stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating and made sure that everything ran smoothly. The food and drinks were well up to standard and we also used the spa facilities where I had the best massage treatment I've ever had. The mood was always calming and relaxed and we came away feeling much the better for the trip. We do a lot of travelling around Scotland and we've seen both the good and the bad but we'd happily recommend Eriska to you.

We absolutely loved our stay in Eriska - the highlight of our Scottish holiday! We travelled with our one year old daughter and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. The food was delicious and we were able to have the restaurant menu as room service. The pool was lovely too and I enjoyed a spa treatment. The island is beautiful (we saw three deer on our last day!) A big thank you to the whole team!

A lovely surprise for my 50th and Massimo and his team did not disappoint. Gorgeous setting and feel so welcome as soon as you walked through the door. No stuffiness everyone just relaxed. The food both nights was outstanding as was breakfast. The bed is like floating in the clouds. Thanks again to all the staff for a wonderful stay.

From the moment we arrived on a wet and windy afternoon we were transported to total relaxation & amazing hospitality. We arrived hungry so had tea & sandwiches in the lounge beside a roaring log fire. Sandwiches were absolutely delicious (we chose prawn & blt). After dragging ourselves away from the log fire, we went upstairs to our bedroom which was lovely. Very nicely decorated with all the amenities you would expect. Penhaligon toiletries were a luxury treat. Dinner & Breakfast were tasty & sitting in the conservatory for a pre dinner drink was cosy (lovely wool blankets in a basket if you want a bit of extra heat) but the stars of the weekend for us were definitely the staff. They were exceptional. Very professional & efficient while still maintaining a friendliness. We were given a map of the island by staff & had a great walk looking for eagles, deer etc. (Wellingtons available at reception) We walked to otter point & were lucky enough to see otters playing in the water. Other wildlife stayed hidden. We had been to Isle of Eriska a few years ago & although lovely, we felt it looked a bit tired and in need of some decorating. It now looks superb. The new owners have clearly invested lots of money refurbishing the hotel and it definitely shows. Not at all surprised celebrities escape to this lovely hotel/island. Thank You Isle of Eriska for a lovely weekend. We will be back.
